TEAM MOUAT CLAIM THIRD WIN AT CURLING WORLD CUP
Scotland’s representatives had already beaten Japan in their World Cup opener and skip Bruce Mouat feels that the latest win has steadied the team ahead of their Canadian challenge tomorrow.
“We are back on track now. We need to win our next two games to have a hope of qualifying for the final,” said Mouat.
“The Japanese boys played well in the first half and we set up quite a good fourth end with some nice angles to give us a shot for three. We had the lead for the last four ends and piled on the pressure and managed to get a big steal of four which secured the game for us. “
Mouat is now aiming to reverse the outcome of the team’s earlier encounter with Canada when they were defeated 11-1.
“We play Canada again tomorrow. We have played them a few times over the last year and a half now so we know that we can beat them, we just have to come out and have a good game.”
Team Muirhead skipped by Jen Dodds at this event lost out 7-5 to Japan who they had beaten earlier in the tournament and will face China and Sweden again in their final two outings in Suzhou.
