EWAN MACDONALD

I started Curling - aged 9/10 in 1985, taking up curling after watching
father and two older brothers who all played competitively.
Family - Son Jake age 5.
Ambitions - to win GOLD at 2010 Winter Olympics.
Hobbies - golf occasionally! (7 handicap).
I have worked in our family business - Ian MacDonald
Insurance & Financial Services since 1992, becoming a partner in 2001.
We have offices in Inverness, Wick, Orkney & Shetland. I have had tremendous support from the family business over the years to enable me to train and compete at this
level.
I was unable to compete through the whole of 2007-2008 season due to left
knee injury, following 3 operations in the last year, I am getting
on going physio/rehab and am now back on the ice.
Won the Scottish Championship 1999, 2002,2004,2006.
European Championship gold in 1999, bronze 2005, silver 2006
World Championship gold in 1999, bronze 2002, silver 2005, gold 2006, 2009.
